UK Poetry Publishers at European Poetry Festival

For most events of the 2022 EPF we will feature a publisher in residence for the night. The aim is not only to have a booktable at those events, to encourage person to person bookselling at otherwise free to attend happenings, but also to introduce our continental visitors to the remarkable moment the UK is having for non-corporate poetry publishing. These publishers are the bedrock of a brilliant generation of poets, often erroneous labelled as experimental, but more rightly considered contemporary, reflecting the chaotic language of the 21st century. All the better for their inability to be codified under one movement or style or aesthetic, both poets and publishers, the downside of such remarkable work is that it is underappreciated in the UK. As such, European readers rarely come into contact with most of the most the dynamic poetry the UK is producing. These brief residencies aim to make small connections across our continent.
